For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart.
It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul
~ Judy Garland
Shooting weddings of all faiths is our specialty. Our team is very experienced in multi-faith weddings, and approaches faith with great respect and wonderment. It’s an honor and privilege to be a part of different faiths worldwide, and to also see the sacredness in all the little moments a wedding provides.
Sikh Weddings
There are so many precious moments that take place during a Sikh wedding. From the beautiful Milni (the meeting of the families), to the heartfelt Ananda Karaj (“blissful union”), to the Dholi (when the bride says goodbye to her family home), we understand Sikh ceremonies and enjoy being a part of them!
Hindu Weddings
A delight to shoot, and never a dull moment, Hindu weddings differ from region to region, which constantly keeps us on our toes! From Gujrat, to Delhi, to Bombay, we’ve shot authentic Indian weddings in India itself, as well as here in Toronto. We make sure to keep the integrity of this ancient tradition alive, from the very beginning of the Mendhi, to the Bharat, to the solidifying of your vows as you walk around the sacred fire.
Chinese Christian Weddings
A fun event from the very beginning of the day, we start the day with a BANG when the bridal party games put up barriers for the groom to pick up his bride! We then follow along to the traditional tea ceremony in which parents and family are honored with cups of tea. And most importantly, we will be there with you during the consecration of the marriage in the house of God, as you share your intimate vows in front of family and friends.
Ismaili Wedding
When the groom comes to pick up his bride, we love to take the opportunity to capture the surprise on his face with a “first look” shot. We set our groom up in front of a beautiful backdrop and then have our gorgeous bride sneak up behind him and steal a kiss. Shortly after this precious moment, we enter the Jamatkhana to hear the sacred words of the Quran and to witness the confirmation of the marriage through the Nikah ceremony and the signing of the marriage contract. From the Pithi, to the Mendhi, and all the way to the Rukhsati, there is never a dull moment at an Ismaili wedding!
Muslim Weddings
Shooting in a mosque is a holy privilege we don’t take lightly. The faces of family as the marriage contracts are signed and validated through the ancient Nikah ceremony is a wonderful moment that we love to capture. From the joyous occasions of the Mendhi, Shaadi, and Valima, to the performance of the Rukhsati, our photography team knows how to extract touching photos from each of these beautiful moments.
